Follow the tutorial below and post the images images of the final result.
After finishing the tutorial, use the turnaround that you made last class and 3D model your own character. If you are a beginner, you can try to simplify your character so you can finish the assignment.
Finally, post a short paragraph about your previous experiences with 3D modeling and share your thoughts on following this tutorial and 3D modeling your own character.
Frog Final Result
Character: Eggyroom
I didn’t have any previous experience with 3D modeling, so this was my first time creating a model by myself. I found it to be a really fresh and fascinating experience. Although I had never done any modeling on my own before, the games I play often has beautifully detailed character models, and the movies I watch have vivid and striking models as well. Because of that, I’ve always been very interested in 3D modeling. But when I actually tried it for the first time, I realized it’s a skill that’s both difficult and requires constant practice. At the beginning, even though I followed the tutorial videos step by step, I still found myself messing up. For example, as I was modeling, I’d often notice that the model would turn into a weird, distorted shape. No matter how much I tweaked it, I couldn’t fix it. In the end, I had no choice but to delete it and start all over again, several times. I failed many times, got frustrated, but kept trying again and again. Although the frog I ended up making still looks a bit messy and rough compared with the one in the video, I did manage to complete it. After this frog modeling practice, I felt like I became just a little bit more skilled. When I started making Eggyroom, the process felt noticeably smoother. I adjusted its shape little by little, and whenever I forgot a step, I’d go back and check the video. While working on it, I was also slowly learning and gradually getting the hang of it. It was a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience.
