Project #15 Digital Poster: Public Service Announcement for Quarantine:
A community Service project to help inform to stay safe and healthy and uplift others during the quarantine.
You may use any method to create the work of art, but the end product is digital and our emphasis is on typography - using type effectively.

Project challenge: Create a digital poster that can be a Public Service Announcement that is visually exciting, visually communicates a message that will leave the audience with a lasting impression.
Objective is to attract attention, and hopefully be enjoyable or even entertaining.
Purpose:
We will choose the best images to be printed and donated to neighboring community locations that are viewed by many, such as hospitals, grocery stores, public institutions. We will also advertise on our school website.
Medium:
Digital, but you could use any medium first, and take a good photo to make it digital. Only digital submissions, which can be easily printed into posters at any size.
Requirements:

The message must be Positive, attractive, with color and high contrast, providing a simple message that has impact and is memorable.
Size:
Vertical, with proportions that can be 8:11, or 10:14, or 11:15, with the height as the larger dimension.
Many posters are 11x16 or 11x17, Instagram images are usually 5”wide x 7”tall. If using pixels, make it 3300 pixels wide x 5100 pixels tall
Constraints:
Nothing offensive, no glorification of drugs or substances, etc.....

3. Find a font that is most appropriate for your message or style (look in fontsquirrel.com or other font websites)

Grading: 30 points, 10 points for each submission that addresses and explains how and why
How: Submissions pasted and explained, submitted in Google Classroom, using the Google Doc with images and explanations
Due Date is Wednesday, May 20th
Grade: 30 points with one point deducted for each day late - This time, I am stressing time is of the essence and this first step has to be FIRST, to set yourself up for success. Being resourceful is a valuable skill that will serve you for your entire career and life!
Grading: 20 points, graded for rubric for three different ideas, planning of space, and contrasting values/colors/textures

When: Due Date is Wednesday, May 27th - with one point deducted for each day late - Again, time is of the essence and this step has to precede your actual creation of artwork, to set yourself up for success.
CREATE! Just get to it - Use your imagination to express and inform however you choose.
Our audience is anyone around us, in the public. So, as long as nobody can be offended, and a good positive message is being communicated, it's a success.
The 3rd assignment: Submit the final work, from your iPad or computer, saved as a .png or .jpg or .pdf
Grading: 50 points - graded with rubric using the five constraints I have used all year:
