3 sketches due before construction (Imagine, sketch, make what you’ve imagined)
1.5-2 lbs of clay (no larger than a grapefruit or a tall glass)
5-6 inch height–no more; no less; 4 inch minimum width
A stable and additive foot
Lock cut lid (All other advanced locking lid options are optional)
Neat and clean rims
Creative knob (Avoid spheres)
Even wall thickness ⅜ or less
Interesting, unique shape, or form (egg shaped is minimal and not creative)
Work shows clay literacy (Few to no pinch marks, slumping, sagging, warping, support coils when needed, etc.)
Work legibly includes first initial, last name and period
Work applies the required steps of the building method
If you have made two pinch method forms in the last two projects you must choose a different building method.
Work must be decorated with at least one of the following methods:
Additive, carved, pierced, imprinted, sgraffito, mishima, paper resit, image transfer, tape resist, or onglaze decoration
Unit length: 2 weeks (5 classes)
Minutes 1-8: Jar-glazing general tips
Minutes 8-13: Lock Cut Lids
Minutes 13-15:30: Flange Lid
Minutes 15:30-19: Gallery Lids
