Why use templates?
Support coils, how and when.
Know what to do when: Soft slab vs. rigid slab
Lock cuts: 2 vs 4
Flanges
3 conceptual sketches roughly to scale due day 1 of unit/before you build. Next class!
Two pages of notes from the Rigid Slab Demos.
You must create and use a “to-scale” (actual size) template using cardboard/file folder card stock (provided). Due before construction begins.
Square planes (for cubes and cuboids: 90 degree corners.)
For Cuboids: (rectangular box) Must be at least 7” in length or height, and 4” in height and minimum 4” wide.

The planes of your box may be decorated (texture, carving, adding clay, or surface decorative techniques). Use of texture mats or textured rollers accepted and encouraged.
NO representational decoration: stars, hearts, daisies, suns, moons, etc.
