3 conceptual sketches (Due studio time day 1)
1 Pendant
Height: 8” minimum
⅜” wall thickness maximum
Center hole with a flange for fitting the electrical components built according to the diagram on slide 54. This CANNOT just be a random hole.
Consideration of how your light broadcasts (think of shape and light). You can meet this requirement by piercing or creating apertures that are unique in shape and design.
Building methods: Coil, Soft Slab, or Rigid Slab. NO PINCH METHOD for this project.
Decorative Options: You are welcome to decorate the surface of your pendant with any of the techniques we have learned this year; however, it is not required. You can pierce, impress, incise/carve, sprig, sgraffito, mishima, paper resist, or paper transfer. Clearly “piercing” lends itself to this project.
While we are creating a pendant lamp, it is recommended that you handle the completion of the electrical components of this piece with a professional. NHHS nor the instructor assumes responsibility for any electrical issues resulting from your assembly of the electrical components of this project.
