Week 10 (WB 6th July)

Please try to complete at least two of the tasks below to a high standard and email them to your teachers using the year group emails: y5@njsch.uk or y6@njsch.uk.

Week 10 - Transition Activities

This week, all of the following tasks will be the very first pieces of work that your new teacher sees and will be the first impression they have of what you can do. Also, the work completed here may be placed on the wall displays for all to see so obviously I'm sure you would want this to be your absolute best. This is going to help your new teachers get to know you all a little better and be a nice bit of fun along the way.

Task 1 - I can't imagine life without.

I can't imagine life without...

-My family

-My friends

-Football

-Pizza

-Cookies

-Music

-Countryside walks

For this task, we want to know a little bit more about you, your passions, what you enjoy, what you consider important, what you can't live without.

What is special to you?

Look at the examples and present your work in a similar way. You may want to add your own little twist.

Task 2 - Draw a self-portrait.

As we are unable to meet in person, a self-portrait is the next best thing!

For this task, we would like you to draw a detailed portrait of yourself (you may choose to work entirely in pencil or to add colour to your artwork). This must be an observational drawing and so you will need to use either a mirror or a photograph to make your work as accurate as possible. If you are finding any of your features particularly difficult to draw, there is a step-by-step guide included on the left, which you may find useful.

Remember that we are looking for beautiful work to display in your new classrooms and so it may be necessary for you to redraft your drawing in order to create a high quality outcome.

Task 3 - My Time Capsule

To get to know you a bit better before we meet in September, please complete a time capsule activity. Think about what you hope to achieve in your new class, what you have enjoyed last year and give your new teacher an insight into what you enjoy.

As an additional bit of fun, play the What would you do? board game with your family members below. Record some of your responses to the questions and send them to your new teacher. It's bound to bring a few laughs!

Task 4 - What makes the perfect classroom environment?

Task 5 - Survey all about you

For this final task, you will have been sent a video from your new teacher. Watch the video and learn a little about them.

You will have also been sent a link to a google form. Click on the link and complete the survey all about you.

Be sure to include your name and try to answer all of the questions about yourself. This is a great way to help your new teacher learn a little more about you.
