Join Dementia Research Service

By 2025, one million people in the UK will have dementia. The only way to beat the condition is through research.

The National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR), alongside Alzheimer's Research UK, Alzheimer's Society, and Alzheimer's Scotland have developed Join Dementia Research, a service which allows people to quickly and easily record their interest in being involved in dementia research projects.

Researchers can then contact suitable people about their possible involvement in studies.

Current research studies range from clinical trials of new treatments to surveys identifying what works in improving the quality of life of people with dementia and their carers.

Signing up for research could make a big difference to you and others.

About the service

Key objectives

By signing up to the service, people give permission for researchers to contact them with details of studies in their area that match their profile. People can then decide if they would like to participate in those studies on a case-by-case basis and can opt-out at any time. For more information, visit the Join Dementia Research website.
