Say-Playing With Words
Say-play with words? Where? and When?
In the kitchen, in the den.
In the car or in the tub,
When you’re going out for grub.
It doesn’t matter, not one tad,
If you rhyme, delete, or add.
It doesn’t matter how you change:
From list to last or range to mange.
It only matters that you speak,
And take the words you speak and tweak.
Play for fun, slight challenge, too.
You boost your child lots as you do!
“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.”
(Dr. Montessori’s Own Handbook)
I have a B.S. in Education from Adelphi University and an American Montessori Society Early Childhood Credential from the Houston Montessori Center.
In addition to teaching Pre-kindergarten through Seventh Grade in homeschool, private school, and public schools settings, I was a Lead Teacher in a Public Magnet Montessori School in the Aldine Independent School District in Houston, TX, and in a Public Montessori Charter School in Frederick County Public Schools, MD.
Each day with our students is a blessing to me as I strive, alongside our staff and Literacy Team, to facilitate language, reading, and writing for them.
