Role / Job Title at School: Teacher
Total Number of Years in Education: 10
This past school year was my first year in Catholic School, and I have learned so much in such a short time. Catholic School is more than ever very important for the salvation of our kids. Catholic Schools set very important faith bases and work together with families in our believes.
Also, what kept me teaching another year in Catholic School is that each and every one that works in Catholic Education believes in educating the whole child and makes sure each and everyone of them get closer to God in everything is taught in school.
Being Latino and not seeing much representation in our school breaks my heart, our Latino community has so much to offer in education, we have a low enrollment with our Hispanic families in our school, but going to the Spanish mass I see so many children that are not aware of the great gift that is providing Catholic Education to our kids.
As well, providing Spanish and being bilingual is so important in our days, that has helped me communicate better with some parents as well with students to better work with them to make their child successful.
Our Mother Mary. Because I'm a mom and she is my perfect example to follow, I admire her strength, always open to listen to God's will, she always trusts in God.
She is the figure that inspires me to work every day in my vocation as a mother.
