I’m passionate about Catholic education because I believe in the discipleship it carries throughout the rest of a person’s life. A Catholic education enables a person to lead and serve in the same way Jesus did. In a Catholic setting, I can continue to nourish ever-loving faith in Christ that will continue beyond the classroom.
Being a LEAD Fellow to me means committing to a responsibility that will positively impact my Latino community in West Dallas, Texas. As a LEAD Fellow, I feel honored to be able to partner with other LEAD Fellows across the nation and share growth as a leader for my school community.
Saint Bernadette of Lourdes inspires me because although she was suffering in health, she was dedicated to sharing the messages in her visions given by the Virgin Mary. She was obedient, faithful, and resilient when facing adversity. In our suffering and hardships, we can trust in God and find the strength to continue to embody servant leadership, paving the way to bring others closer together in faith.
