Glin National College's management recognises employees' right to join a trade union.
Any employee may if they wish:
Belong to an independent trade union of their choice and take part in its activities.
Seek to hold office as an official of an independent trade union.
Have subscriptions to professional associations and trade unions deducted from their salary on written request to the management
An employee equally has the right not to join a trade union.
Management will allow reasonable time off with pay to the employee representative/s (shop steward/s) to carry out industrial relations duties, including local negotiation, representing members in grievance or disciplinary procedures, attending meetings, and attending training courses.
