Facilities

Glin National College will ensure that all facilities are adequate and maintained in accordance with legislation. These facilities include heating, lighting, ventilation and sanitary facilities. 

Should employees consider that the facilities need to be more adequate or are being maintained correctly, they should inform their Manager.

Tidy Desk 

To protect the safety, health and welfare of all in the organisation, employees must ensure their work areas are tidy and free from rubbish. Only essential materials and items should be left on employees' desks or work areas. 

Employees using essential or confidential materials or equipment are asked to return it to the correct place or to store it safely at the end of use and the end of each day. 

Safe Work Environment 

To maintain a safe work environment and to protect the health and safety of all employees carrying out tasks involving moving goods/materials must:

• Plan their specific path and destination to carry out the task 

• Ensure the way is clear of obstructions 

• Ensure the floor is not slippery 

• Remove all rubbish and litter 

• Use the correct Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) provided 

• Not carry loads that they cannot manage

Hygiene

A high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is expected at Glin National College. The organisation aims to ensure that working conditions are pleasant for all employees and protect their safety, health and welfare.

Employees are expected to help maintain these standards throughout the company.
