The management of Glin National College recognises its responsibility to ensure that all employees have access to regular supervision and support for their work. The nature and amount of this provision will be negotiated with each employee. Supervision and support will include annual performance management and development for each employee. The purpose of the annual performance management and development is to:
Ensure that the requirements of the position are fulfilled
Give the employee feedback on their performance
Identify any additional training and development needs
Review their work over the past year
Plan goals and objectives for the year ahead
Ensure that the employee is aware of where their role fits with the overall company business goals and objectives.
It is also a regular part of the performance management to review the employee's job description and to decide by agreement of both parties how it is to be updated if necessary. Employees will be fully informed of the outcomes of the performance management.
