I miss you all SO much!! And, I'm so bummed we couldn't display the marvelous landscapes you painted! They are stunners!
Fourth quarter will look very different for our class. I will be posting art "assignments", enrichment activities, each Wednesday and Friday in our google classroom by 9:00 am for you to work on in the afternoons. These will not be graded but will help you continue to hone your artistic skills. Please take pictures of the art you're producing and send it to me through google classroom. I want to cheer you on!
Later in the quarter, I will look through your portfolios and pick out your best work to photograph. I will also choose from the art work you send in. These pieces will be displayed on our NCA facebook page and on this google site for all to enjoy. At the end of the school year, your portfolios will be available for pick-up and they will include your beautiful landscapes.
If you have any questions, need tips, or simply want to connect, please email me. I really want to hear from you!
This fun exercise trains your hand-eye coordination and causes you notice new things about your subject. Begin with one hand position and then try several more! Tips? Tape your paper down. Use a pen or marker, go slowly, and don't peek at your work until you've completed the contour
Now that you've done a blind contour drawing of your hand, try doing a "seeing" contour of your shoe, using pen or marker. This time you draw the contour, like the hand example above, but you get to look as you draw. The shoe drawing is not a continuous line drawing. You may pick your pen up as needed. Notice all the details of the sections but don't do any shading. If you'd like more of a challenge, draw an overhead view or pose your shoes at various angles to one another. You may add colored patterns as a background.
Have you ever imagined yourself as the protagonist in a wonderful adventure? The truth is, you're a part of the Greatest Story of All. God is the Author and Finisher of your faith and he is writing on the pages of your heart every day. He's created you to be a hero to the world around you-- to light up the darkness with the power he's given you and to destroy the enemy with your prayers and obedience to Father God.
Jesus will use this time to do great things in our lives. He loves to help and to give us peace in the strangest of times. I've sure needed it! How about you?
I know I've felt insecure regarding the technology challenges I'm facing right now. Maneuvering between platforms and figuring out how to approach teaching my favorite subjects is something I'm fighting for. Believe me-- there were a couple of days I wanted to quit! But God has me where he wants me and he's pruning off lies I tell myself. Every time I ask him for help he comes through.
He promises:
'Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’ Jeremiah 33:3
Have fun drawing, working, playing, and spending time with your family!
You are LOVED!
