Mr. Gene Berge (School Counselor, K-4th Grade) began working NCA in 2010. Mr. Berge is a certified school counselor with a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from City University. Prior to joining NCA, he was the school counselor at Bellevue Christian School for five years and has worked in a public school and other centers and brings a wealth of knowledge to NCA. Mr. Berge actively serves in his church and he and his wife have two children (one of whom attended NCA).

Mrs. Heather Shaw (School Counselor, 5th-8th Grade) Mrs. Shaw began working at NCA in 2017. Mrs. Shaw grew up in Tempe, Arizona, and knew early that she wanted to be in Christian education where she could impact students. Mrs. Shaw completed her Master’s in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. She started her educational career teaching third grade and has also taught Language Arts in middle and high school. Prior to NCA, Mrs. Shaw worked at Village Christian School as an Assistant Principal overseeing student intervention and support. Mrs. Shaw and her husband are the proud parents of three children.
