Band Festival of Insanity!

It has been a long time since we have heard each other play, so we are going to fix that.

How? By recording ourselves and posting it to the Google Classroom!

(The code to the Google Classroom for the Bands was sent in an email via RenWeb.)

(Quick Summary)

Step One

Find your favorite passage of music. It can be from your Band Folders, or the Red, Blue, or Green Books, or even some other song you want to share. You can even make something up!

Step Two

Record yourself using any method you want. (Audio Only)

Step Three

Upload an mp3 file to the Google Classroom "Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginning Band."

Look for the assignment “Band Festival of Insanity!”

OK, here it is in more detail.

  • Mobile device (voice memo app, google recorder etc.)

  • Quicktime (free download if you do not already have it.)

  • Audacity (PC Users- free download, it is basically a PC version of GarageBand)

3- Go to our google classroom and click on the assignment “Band Festival of Insanity!”

4- Click ‘Add’ when viewing the assignment to upload the file

5- In google classroom- Click turn in (make sure the file is uploaded)

If you save your recording to the desktop- you can drag it into google classroom. Just simply click ‘Add’ when viewing the assignment. Then you will see where to drag the file. Then click ‘turn-in.’

If you want, you can collaborate with friends. Use an agreed upon tempo, and then send each other the mp3’s of everyone playing. Line the tracks up in GarageBand or Audacity, and see what happens!

Some of us have been creating music already. Feel free to share your creations!
