The following list of skills and concepts apply to the 3rd grade curriculum:
- movement skills are incorporated into patterns, lead up sports activities, and dance
- principles of movement (i.e. application of force, absorption, equilibrium)
- identify & apply safety rules & procedures to games & activities
- understand the benefits of maintaining health-enhancing level of fitness
- participate in regular physical activity to maintain or improve fitness
- components of fitness
- goal setting for fitness
- develop the ability to work independently and as a team member
- understand how individuals & groups influence individual health
- body systems and their function
- understand factors that influence growth & development
- decision making, communication, & refusal skills
