Thank you to all who participated in Nar-Anon’s outreach efforts at the NA San Fernando Valley Convention in Burbank on January 18^th & 19^th!

After very positive feedback from their members regarding our presence in 2018, the NA convention committee invited us back and asked us to host two open meetings which (for the first time) they included in their programs and official schedule. This was a terrific opportunity for Nar-Anoners from throughout SoCal to socialize and catch-up with each other, to share our progress while working the steps during the meetings and, perhaps most importantly, to reach many people who were previously unfamiliar with our fellowship by sharing our experience, strength and hope. Both at the information table and in the meetings we were able to offer information, encouragement and compassion to loved ones of those struggling with active addiction as well to those in recovery, professional counselors and 12-step organizers.

This was a fun weekend in which new friendships were begun, inspiring stories were shared and hope was offered to so many people. The rewarding experience of providing service to the fellowship and to others is a very important part of our individual recoveries as well as in helping us to work the steps and the traditions of the Nar-Anon fellowship and the weekend in Burbank was just one terrific example of the many opportunities available to us.
