Class: Adrenergic agent, inotropic
Action: Binds with both alpha and beta receptors to produce increased blood pressure, heart rate and bronchodilation
Indications: Medical shock with MAP < 65
Adverse Effects: Tachycardia, anxiety, headache, hypertension, nervousness, tremors, chest pain, nausea/vomiting
Contraindications: Supra Ventricular Tachycardia, glaucoma
Special Considerations: Pregnancy Class C
Dosages: For MEDICAL Shock
Mix 1:1000 1ml (1mg) in 100ml bag of NS to make a concentration of 10mcg/ml - MIX well and withdraw 2ml into a 3ml syringe
Give 20mcg (2ml) every 5 minutes to maintain MAP > 65 mmHg
