Biography
Hilary will be graduating as an English Major at CSUCI in spring of 2024. She loves to travel, eat, hike, read, cook and spend time with her family. Her current occupation is instructional aide for Transitional Kindergarten. She was inspired by the birth of her first daughter and encouraged by her husband to pursue and achieve her personal goal of graduating from university. Her future plans include attaining single subject teaching credentials and working with middle or high school students.
Process
This capstone project proved to be a fun, interesting, and even challenging-at-times, process for Hilary. It was a very personal topic, as it offers a casual commentary in addition to the recipes, often with glimpses into her personal life and childhood. The writing can be described as blog-style, which differs greatly from the academic and research papers that she grew accustomed to as a university student.

These are the recipes that I reach for when I feel nostalgic, when it’s time to celebrate, when I need physical and emotional nourishment. I believe that love can be tasted in food.
