Please join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by time to explore the new space in B1-140, interact with the exhibits, and enjoy light refreshments.
The ribbon cutting will be held at College of San Mateo Building 1-140 on March 4 from 2:00–3:00 p.m.
Here's the ZWA summary Last semester, the District Sustainability Team trained 31 new Zero Waste Ambassadors. Seven students were from Cañada College, 14 from College of San Mateo, and 10 from Skyline College. With three returning ambassadors, this brought the total number of Zero Waste Ambassadors in the District to 34.
Together, students volunteered 14 hours in campus dining halls, helping their peers sort out lunch waste correctly. This effort kept more than 26 pounds of food scraps and other compostable materials out of the landfill.
This semester is alreaady off to a great start with 21 students from Skyline College's SAGE club participating in a waste audit. There will many additional ways to participate this Spring in waste sorting shifts, dining hall waste audits, and campus Earth Fest events.
The Sustainability team is excited to announce the dates for Earth Fest 2026!
