Campus as a Living Lab


Overview

The mission of Campus as a Living Lab (CaaLL) is to enhance an each campus built environment as an active learning environment where students build essential skills for leadership and enrich the communities they serve. Through CaaLL, students are introduced to real-world environmental challenges affecting their campus, while simultaneously progressing towards critical sustainability goals. CaaLL improves the academic and operational performance of colleges, situating SMCCCD as a role model for other institutions and businesses to be positive agents of change.

Indoor Water Audit

How much water is wasted by leaky faucets? Find out how to measure water waste, fixture efficiency, and gain an understanding of indoor water systems. Find water savings for your campus to improve efficiency and reduce costs! mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm


Waste Assessment

Get your hands dirty sorting through some of your campuses waste! Learn about our three waste streams, how they're processed, and what belongs in each of them. mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm


Irrigation Audit

Gain an understanding of landscaping and water efficiency by conducting an irrigation audit. Students can measure the precipitation rate and measure the coverage of the sprinkler systems across campus! Learn how our new AquaCents injections will affect our irrigation efficiency.
