Digital Escape Rooms with Google Forms

Assignment Overview: Students were asked to work together in teams to figure out which superhero is starring in the next Marvel/DC movie, and find out which side will be the victor. 

Digital Escape Room Specifics: Megan took a math worksheet that she would normally have used, and she decided to turn it into a digital escape room to make it more engaging for her students. She added the digital escape room to her Canvas course for students to easily access. Since the escape room was created with Google Forms, students needed to first sign in to their Google accounts. Megan displayed the steps below on the board.

Megan's Tips for Getting Started: "Use PowerPoint for the screens. I made all of the slides in PowerPoint so I could provide a fun background and font. I then took a screenshot of the slide, saved it as a picture, and uploaded that image into Google Forms. It provided a fun background for the students to look at and get a bit more immersed into solving who was in the movie.

When creating the activity itself, you just need a worksheet, the answers, and a few extra answers to pair with who is left, or in our case, 'in the movie.'

For making the work paper, I also used PowerPoint and changed the slide dimensions to 8.5 inches by 11 inches and made different tables for each screen and formatted it the way I liked it." 

The students worked collaboratively in their table groups to solve the digital escape room together.
