Elementary
¡Hola, explorers! In Week 6 (July 20-24) our Elementary campers will journey to Peru to discover the dramatic landscapes of the Andes Mountains and the fascinating history of the Inca civilization. Students will learn about Machu Picchu, traditional farming in the mountains, and the cultural traditions that shape life in Peru today. Through Peruvian folktales and stories about the Andes, campers will explore the people, landscapes, and traditions of this remarkable region.
Stories & Culture: Peruvian folktales and stories about the Inca civilization, the Andes Mountains, and Machu Picchu
Art & Creativity: Andean inspired weaving patterns, pottery painting, and textile design projects
Music & Movement: Pan flute music, Andean folk songs, traditional dances, and rhythm activities
Gross Motor Activities: Soccer, relay races, traditional jumping games, and cooperative movement challenges
Food & Taste: Empanadas, potatoes, corn dishes, rice, and fruit smoothies
STEM Fun: Explore mountain geography, investigate traditional farming methods, learn Spanish words, and practice map reading
Campers will explore the landscapes, traditions, music, and foods of Peru while building creativity, cultural awareness, and hands-on learning.
