To create this wOndErfuL art piece I created several drafts of two different/unrelated nouns put together and I chose my favorite one. I sketched out the cat several times with short hair, long hair, and special tails but the final one was long haired curls. I used watercolors to add the color and my inspiration came from one of the photos shown during the project launch. My favorite part of this piece is the cats tail. It took a long time to get the coloring right and to get the shape how I wanted it, but it all was worth it when I got this wonderful finished piece.
My favorite part of this artwork was definitely the detail. My least favorite part is the 7 eleven signs because it just doesn't work very well. My inspiration was something that I found on the internet after searching Japan 2 point perspective drawing. I would get a much smaller piece of paper because in the photo that I was looking at there was much less paper.
Concepts I learned while creating this artwork are the 2 point perspective. I did not know how to do that kind of art or even a 1 point perspective but after this project I can do it. Also, I may be adding on to this art piece by tracing it with pen or adding much more shading.
I was inspired by a picture on the internet of a rainbow Chinese dragon with a lot of swirls around it. For this I grabbed a sheet of the fancy paper and scratched it with the wooden stick :D This project was for fun and I think I want it to be hung up in the hallway.
In the piece me, Lucia and Koen used all of the elements of art. The first element is line. To do this we drew cracks in the canyon walls that were sharp and drawn with a pen. For the second element, value, we created the clouds using different shades of black and blue to make them look 3D. For the texture element, we ripped up paper and used it to create a sort of fade on the canyon which you can see in the center of the piece. For space we made the mouse that the hawk is preying on much smaller to resemble helplessness and hunger. For form we made the canyon and the animals look 3D with water colors and select shades. On color we used mostly browns and some general sky colors surrounded around the hawk. On shape we ripped up the paper and used the shape of that torn paper to make it look like a rugged canyon wall. Overall, I used all the elements on the project.
This portrait represents me with the red strips in several places. These represent the traits and personality underneath the outside, I transformed my portrait by drawing a full portrait and taping over places where I wanted to have my red strips, and then I drew the strips. My favorite part was my face! It was really fun to learn how to draw myself even though it was a struggle. In the future, I would choose a different method of transform so I don't have to draw an entire portrait and can be goofy.
