The first project we did in Humanities was called the Evolution of Storytelling. We wrote short stories and quick writes that are published in a book Ms Nancy put together in the beginning of the year.

READING GOAL

My goal is to read 60 books over the course of 7th grade all with adult or advanced vocabulary. To do this I will read at school and home, I will need to read more adult books with harder vocabulary. To measure my goal I will use the 40 book challenge papers to write my book count and I will hit 8th grade or 9th grade vocabulary on winter i ready.

READING GOAL REFLECTION

I feel like I did good on this goal, as being halfway through it. I read around 20 books and am planning on starting a new series (!!) I have been reading more advanced books such as Hail Mary and Angels and Demons (read in 6th and repeated in 7th) We have yet to do winter I ready so I'm waiting for that for my vocabulary goals!

Reflection

Reflection for both units

The projects were about why stories matter, the different phases of the evolution of storytelling and how they were connected. I am proud of my work in vocabulary and geography! Before this semester I could probably only name one country in Africa but now I can name like 10 off the bat. I worked hard on vocabulary for the tests and the very difficult homework which took fOrEvEr.. But now I have a better vocabulary.

I put a lot of time and effort into the creation of the storytelling video. It took me several weeks of editing and rerecording to get to the final draft, which then resulted in needing to record an advertisement about the play which sadly didn’t screen at the exhibition. I will remember a lot from this semester. I will remember the printing press and migration stories because they were very interesting and fun to learn about. When we learned about the migration story of Mailyn, I think that really impacted my understanding of what's going on in Cuba right now and it made me want to do something. I could have definitely improved on my dedication to my annotations and 3 sentence responses. I got several approachings when I could have gotten meets. Next unit I will work harder on my annotations and responses.
