The State’s Open Enrollment period will open Monday, November 1, 2021 and will close at 11:59pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2024. Applicants interested in attending MOT Charter School for the 2024-25 school year MUST submit an application during this period to be included in the Lottery. High School applicants must also supply most recent report card/progress report as the required document to complete their application for inclusion in the Lottery

2. If you are interested in applying for your child as an incoming Kindergarten
a. Your child must be Age 5 on or before August 31, 2021

4. CURRENT MOT 8TH GRADE STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO APPLY FOR ENROLLMENT IN MOT CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL, as they are already our enrolled student. We will be sending more information to current 8th grade families in the upcoming days.
The 2021-22 Lottery will be the first week of February and enrollment will be determined by an independent electronic Lottery process. Lottery status notifications will be emailed to all completed applicants no later than February 28 2022.

v. Applicant living within the Appoquinimink School District
vi. Applicant sibling of a currently enrolled high school student

Applicant child of MOT Charter School full time employee: those employed on a permanent basis for at least 30 hours per week during the school year.

The purpose of this document is to establish guidelines for MOT Charter School (hereafter MOT or MOT Charter) in responding to adult sexual misconduct in schools in accordance with 83 Del. Laws c. 408, Section 1. MOT staff members have an obligation to promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of students by establishing and maintaining role-appropriate communicative, physical, emotional, and social boundaries in their interactions and relationships with students. Maintaining appropriate boundaries promotes (1) structure, safety, security, and predictability in an educational environment; (2) consistency in students’ understanding of staff members’ roles and responsibilities; and (3) appropriate objectivity in each staff member’s performance of their authorized role(s).
Your dress is a reflection of your professionalism. Dress for all instructional, support and office staff is “professional casual.”
BOTTOMS:
Suits, suit separates, slacks, cotton twill pants, skirts and dresses
Unacceptable:
Leather and lycra/spandex, leggings or stirrup pants
Sweatpants, jeans, overalls, miniskirts, shorts, exercise, dance, and beach wear
Clothes that are frayed, thread bare, faded, in need of repair, dirty or stained
TOPS:
Long or short sleeved, collared shirts that are not revealing. Collarless blouses and sweaters. Knit tops such as collared polo shirts are acceptable.
Unacceptable:
T-shirts and similar collarless shirts
Sheer or low cut blouses
Tank or halter tops or off-the-shoulder blouses
SHOES:
Lace up or slip-on dress or casual shoes, sling-back and open-toe pumps and sandals, dress boots or loafers may be worn.

Special Occasions
There are some class and school activities (“jeans days” and “spirit days”) that call for more casual attire. Please remember you are a model for students and at no time should you wear tight or revealing clothing.
School closings and delays will be posted on our website at www.motcharter.com and announced via the Infinite Campus notification system.
Essentially, Unit Count is a two week timeframe in September when all LEAs account for active students and verify their attendance for funding purposes. Their are other components to unit Count but the most vital piece is attendance.
1. Attendance Taking Policies
a. Student rosters with students and student ID numbers are accessible to teachers through Infinite Campus.
b. Teachers are responsible for ensuring that attendance is taken daily and in accordance with building procedures.
c. Teachers must sign and date the End-of-Day Teacher Status attendance report at the conclusion Unit Count.
d. Upon request, Teachers must provide work samples for students who were absent on the last day of Unit Count.
e. All changes to student rosters shall be made by administration and will be reflected in Infinite Campus.
2. The Admissions Administrative Assistant shall call the parents of any new student not in attendance on the first two days of school (e.g., “no shows”) in order to verify that the student is absent and not withdrawn. The administrative assistant responsible for attendance shall call the parents of any returning students not in attendance on the first two days of school to verify that the student is absent and not withdrawn.
3. Until September 30th, the Attendance Secretary shall call the parents of any student listed as absent more than two consecutive days to verify that the student is absent and not withdrawn.
4. The administrative assistant responsible for daily attendance shall enter adjustments to daily attendance information (tardies, excused, unexcused) into Infinite Campus.
