Rakesh Mullick is the Chief Scientist, AI, in the Science & Technology Organization at GE HealthCare. As AI methods make deepening inroads into the healthcare eco-system, Rakesh leads the way working closely with GE HealthCare Research, Product, and Technology Strategy teams to co-create at scale AI-infused solutions enabling accurate, autonomous, and accelerated operations of our devices and care pathways, enabling clinical decision support, smart image/signal synthesis and analysis, quantitative imaging, and augmented workflows shaping the future of precision health.
Over the last decade Rakesh helped shape and execute the strategy for infusion of machine learning and AI methods in healthcare, giving form to on-premise, edge, and cloud platforms for differentiated deep-learning frameworks for building, evolving and deploying models and algorithm orchestrations. In parallel, he continuously pursuing an active effort in precision healthcare for the oncology care-area, quantitative neuro-imaging and analytics, and multi-modal AI research as part of several global research collaborations. His other engagement is with the affordable care segment to leverage research solutions and prototypes evaluate and translate solutions for underserved markets in both emerging and developed markets.
Rakesh joined GE Research in 2000 as a Project Lead in Clinical Visualization. In his next role as Lab Manager, he helped establish a strong research team in medical image analytics at the John F. Welch Technology Center, and later as Principal Scientist leading multiple research projects and mentoring teams to deliver differentiating clinical application solutions while strengthening the IP portfolio. Since 2013, Rakesh has been the resident Chief Scientist in Bangalore, first as part of GE Global Research and then in GE HealthCare. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and certified TRIZ practitioner. Rakesh has filed over 50 patents, an author on over 120 Journal and Conference Papers, recipient of multiple awards in GE Research, and invited speaker in multiple forums.
