Guidelines for Abstract Preparation:
The abstract word limit is max. 150 words per abstract excluding title, authors and affiliations. The PPHA 2025 Secretariat reserves the right to exclude abstracts that exceed the word limit.
The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to clearly indicate the nature of the study. Write the abstract title in CAPITAL LETTERS. No full stop at the end.
Author names should be listed in order without honorifics, with full names separated by commas. Affiliations should be listed below the author names and indicated using numbers in brackets.
The abstract must include the following:
Aim: Clearly state the purpose of the abstract.
Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.
Results: Present your results in a logical sequence.
Conclusions: Emphasise new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them.
You may submit your abstract in either unstructured or structured format. Please refer to here for an example of an abstract.
All abbreviations must be defined in first use. Statements such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” cannot be accepted.
Use of brand names: For all references to products or companies, generic names must be used. Brand names may be included separately in a designated section of the submission form. Abstracts containing brand names within the main text (instead of the designated section) may be rejected. The PPHA 2025 Secretariat reserves the right to replace brand names with generic names without prior notice.
Abstracts will not be accepted if previously presented at a PPHA conference unless there is substantial increase in data.
Review Process:
All abstracts will be reviewed and evaluated by a selection panel appointed by the PPHA 2025 Conference Scientific Committee.
Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be sent to the submitter by 30 May 2025.
It is the responsibility of all submitters that all studies are performed with respect to national legislation, international legislation and ethical guidelines with regards to humans. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject any submitted abstract that is believed to violate these principles.
Please verify that your email address (submitter and presenting author) is correct as it will be used for contacting you after the review process.
The Scientific Committee reserves the right not to give detailed information as to why an abstract is rejected. The committee’s decisions are final, and no appeals, complaints, or requests for reconsideration will be entertained.
