The Precision Public Health Asia (PPHA) 2025 Conference Organising Committee is delighted to announce the PPHA 2025 Conference Bursary to support full-time postgraduate students in a relevant field, early career researchers, and health professionals attending the PPHA 2025 Conference: PRECISE, PROACTIVE AND PERSONALISED Towards Sustainable Health Systems from 15-17 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Each PPHA Bursary recipient will receive the following:
Waived PPHA25 conference registration fee
Funds to support conference-related return economy class airfare from the recipient’s place of residence to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and accommodation costs, covering 4 nights from 14 to 18 July 2025
Please note that this funding is capped at MYR 2,500 (approximately SGD 750) per applicant, with no guarantee of full coverage of the requested amount
All applicants are expected to propose the most cost-effective travel and accommodation options
Note that:
Bursary recipients are expected to attend the Pre-Conference Workshop (15 July 2025, 9am - 3.30pm) and 2 days of the conference (16 & 17 July 2025, 8am - 5.30pm).
Bursary recipients consent to be featured on the PPHA2025 social media channels and in the conference’s final report.
Bursary recipients are encouraged to publicise the PPHA 2025 conference on their social media channels.
The committee reserves the right to assign conference report rapporteuring duties to selected bursary recipients.
The approved funds will be reimbursed within six weeks after the conference, contingent upon the submission of the supporting documents (recipient bank account details, receipts or invoices for travel and accommodation).

Applicants should:
Be full-time postgraduate students in a relevant field, early career researchers (within five years post-PhD conferral) or health professionals with no more than five years of working experience. Exceptions may be made for applicants who have taken a career break, such as illness or parental leave.
Be currently based in and a citizen of one of the following Southeast Asian countries classified as low- or middle-income economies by the World Bank: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam.
Submit an abstract for a poster presentation at the PPHA 2025 Conference.
NOT have previously received a PPHA Conference Bursary.

Adjudication and Final Decision:
All bursary applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a selection panel appointed by the PPHA 2025 Conference Scientific Committee.
Adjudication will be based on several factors, including the applicant’s financial need, quality of abstract(s) submitted, the relevance and potential impact of the applicant’s work in precision public health, and the overall quality of the supporting materials submitted (e.g., statement of purpose, curriculum vitae, letter of recommendation).
The committee’s decisions are final, and no appeals, complaints, or requests for reconsideration will be entertained. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email before or on 30 May 2025.
