MoMA PS1 is proud to introduce the Wellness Fund, a dedicated initiative reflecting our ongoing commitment to fostering a positive, healthy, and thriving work environment for all employees. We believe that the well-being of our staff is fundamental to the success of our organization, and this fund is one of the many ways we are investing in the people who make MoMA PS1 exceptional.
Each department will receive an annual funding allocation to be used in accordance with the guidelines outlined below. The following policy provides a comprehensive overview of how these funds may be utilized to support team bonding and enhance the in office experience for all staff.
Team Bonding Events
Building Connections That Matter
Strong teams are built on trust, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose. The Team Bonding allocation is designed to create meaningful opportunities for staff to connect, collaborate, and celebrate one another outside of the day to day work environment.
Eligible Uses of Funds:
Team building activities, group outings, and collaborative workshops
Events and experiences that promote a healthy work-life balance
Activities that encourage positive interactions and strengthen team relationships
Guidelines & Approval Process:
Team bonding events should be planned and distributed thoughtfully throughout the fiscal year
All proposed events must be submitted to the Department Head for review and approval prior to planning or booking
Submissions should include a detailed outline of the proposed event, including venue, transportation, and any associated costs
All event costs must remain within the department's allocated budget
In-Office Additions
Creating a Workspace That Supports You
A well designed and thoughtfully curated workspace plays a vital role in supporting the physical and mental well being of our employees. The In Office Additions allocation is intended to enhance the office environment in meaningful and impactful ways.
Eligible Items May Include:
Office equipment and ergonomic enhancements
Plants, artwork, and decorative elements that contribute to a welcoming atmosphere
Wellness related amenities such as a coffee maker, tea station, or other comfort items that promote a positive in office experience
Guidelines & Approval Process:
All requests for in office additions must be submitted to the Department Head for review and approval
Submissions should include a clear description of the requested item(s), the anticipated benefit to employee well being, and a detailed cost breakdown
Approval will be determined based on the relevance of the request and its overall impact on staff wellness and the work environment
Fund Guidelines & Important Notes
Please review the following important guidelines to ensure the Wellness Fund is utilized effectively and equitably across all departments:
📅 Annual Review: It is our goal to maintain the Wellness Fund on a year over year basis. However, budget allocations are subject to annual review and may be adjusted based on available organizational resources. Should additional resources become available, there is the possibility that allocations may increase.
⏳ Use-It-Or-Lose-It Policy: The Wellness Fund operates on a use it or lose it basis. Any funds that remain unspent within a budget category at the close of the fiscal year will be reallocated to MoMA PS1's general operating fund. We strongly encourage all departments to plan ahead and make full use of their allocations throughout the year.
✅ Compliance: All expenditures must comply with MoMA PS1's financial and procurement policies. Departments are responsible for ensuring that all purchases and events are properly documented and submitted for approval in a timely manner.
Submitting a Request
To submit a request for a Team Bonding Event or In Office Addition, please follow the steps below:
Prepare a brief proposal outlining the request, including purpose, anticipated benefits, and estimated costs
Submit the proposal to your Department Head for initial review and approval
Retain all receipts and documentation for reporting and reconciliation purposes
