Developing each girl and officer to her fullest potential by
Equipping, Empowering and Enabling:
Every Girl a Leader

In the 28th (P) Girls' Brigade, the girls will learn Christian values, to lead and to serve. They will learn to develop self-control, reverence, and a sense of responsibility through active involvement in outdoor activities and badge work.
The Girls' Brigade Junior Programme aims to build character and inculcate good values in the girls. This programme consists of six segments:
GB Knowledge - Provide girls with the understanding of and pride in the Movement to which they belong
Drills - Instil discipline & resilience
Service - Develop empathy to identify and meet needs in the world with an attitude of gratitude and service
Treasure - Develop courage and patience to learn and apply new skills purposefully
Adventure - Develop resilience and tenacity to complete physical challenges, as an individual and a team member
Responsibility - Develop a sense of responsibility and respect towards self, others and the world
Treasure Badge -
Cyberbullying Workshop
The theme for this year’s responsibility badge is “Protector”. During the badgework, our company invited a group of professionals from Touch Cyber Wellness to conduct a workshop on Cyberbullying.
We had an incredible time during our amazing race cum hike through Sentosa! We needed to learn how to collaborate with each other to understand the map, so we could hike to the different checkpoints. We persevered as we hiked through The Mount Imbiah trail, learning not to give up and lending a helping hand to our teammates who faced difficulties while hiking.
I developed resilience through my experiences on the nature trail hike. I learned about amazing love by supporting and encouraging my friends during the nature trail hike, even when they're slowing down.
Abigail Soon Peixin, 4 Faith (2024)
I have learnt to have determination. A positive mindset and a goal helped me to feel more determined to finish the hike at Sentosa. Though it was long and tiring, I did not let that put me down. Instead, I continued on and focused on the goal of finishing the hike.
Mikaela Ng Jin Xin, 6 Courage (2024)
It was a really sunny and humid day, and some of my teammates started to fall behind and were about to give up. I found myself encouraging some of my them to press on. Even though it would be faster to finish the walk alone, finishing the walk together as a group made it so much more meaningful as we encouraged each other through those small challenges.

We also learnt more about God and the Bible during our CCA sessions.

Enrolment Service 2024
Our yearly Enrolment Service took place in May this year after our camp. All our parents lent their support and joined us for the service.
Junior Leadership Training Camp (JLTC)
16 girls were selected this year to attend the 2-Day 1-Night camp in Term 1.
The training camp aims to equip the girls with the necessary skills needed in leading a squad and planning activities for the company.
Upon successful completion of the Junior Leadership Training, they were awarded the JLTC badge and would be expected to lead their squads in time to come.
I enjoyed attending the Junior Leadership Training Camp. It was a rewarding experience attending JLTC. I learnt a lot from the camp. I learnt to take the initiative instead of waiting for others to do the job. For instance, when something needs to be done, you should step forward and take the responsibility to do it yourself. I also learnt the importance of sportsmanship. Participation is not solely about winning but also about enjoying the process and gaining meaningful experiences. JLTC has helped me to better understand what a true leader is. A true leader is not about their outward appearances, but their inner qualities and character.

The Girls’ Brigade Friend in Deed Project 2024 Launches with a Record-Breaking Community Baking Event
110 GB Girls stepped up to befriend more than 150 vulnerable Singaporeans with different needs at the launch of the Girls’ Brigade Friend in Deed (GBFD) project.
Held at New Hope Community Services’ Kampung Siglap Lifeskills Training and Retreat Centre, Community Bake saw intergenerational teams baking cookies for 500 beneficiaries served by New Hope Community Services. The project was also added into the Singapore Book of records for the largest number of people baking together.
GB Friendship Day 2024 - Adopt A Wish
In collaboration with the Southwest Community Development Council, the Girls’ Brigade helped to fulfil the specific wishes of 4,000 vulnerable individuals during this year’s GB Friendship Day. Our school helped to adopt 100 of these wishes. Our GB girls and their parents donated the items and blessed many needy families.
Our girls also designed and made inspirational cards for the families.
Let's hear what Naomi Lee from 3 Brilliance (2024) has to say!
Have you heard about GB Friend in Deed? For me - never. I am so glad that I joined Girls' Brigade as my CCA. GB Friend In Deed was introduced to me before the June holidays.
I thank God that my parents were so supportive that they quickly grabed that opportunity to bless someone with a gift. From the list that was given by Mdm Chong, we chose to bless a boy with an educational gift.
Once we were given the addresss, my parents called the boy's parents immediately to arrange for the delivery of the gift. I thank God that I was not nervous due to the experience I had on knocking on strangers' door and giving away oranges and mooncakes during festive seasons. I was looking forward to knocking on the boy's door and to handover my present to him. To my surprise, the boy came from a very big family with many siblings surrounding him. All of them looked so excited while I handed my present to the boy, as they just could not wait to unwrap the present. I hope that my little present meant something to this family.
From this programme, I thank God for blessing me to live out God's word - Mark 12:41-44, Jesus told the disciples that the widow offerings that rich people brought, because she has given so much out of her so little.
I pray that God will continue to use me to bless others and gives light to those around me.
It is more blessed to give than to receive. - Acts 20:35
GB Day 2024
National Day 2024
Let's hear what one of our flag bearers has to say about her experience!
During this year's NDP March-in, I felt very proud and honoured to be able to hold the flag and march in with my fellow Junior Leaders. From this experience, I now understand what Mrs Yee has always emphasized, that it takes a village to raise a child. This march-in is not possible because of one person, but the effort and hard work of every teammate involved, be it from the Girls' Brigade or the Boys' Brigade. It reminds me to be thankful for life's opportunities. I believe that God does not give miracles but creates opportunities.
For my juniors, I would like to say that being a GB girl is a privilege, and we must live up to our standard. However, the Girls' Brigade is not something to be taken lightly. It requires discipline and self-control. I hope that the 28th Primary Girls' Brigade can continue to thrive as one united company. As GB girls, we must be proud of our identity and keep our heads high.

Fast Food & Fuzz Camp 2024
The P4 girls participated in a 2-day, 1-night camp at GBHQ. Through various activities such as sleeping on cardboard, eating only porridge, and walking long distances to school, they gained insight into the challenges faced by children in impoverished countries due to poverty. The girls had to work to earn money and buy their food. Despite the limited resources, it was a tough but life-changing experience for them.
During the FFF Camp, I enjoyed the “Earn Your Living” activity as it helped my peers and I to understand the value of hardwork and how tough it is to earn money.
I learnt that we are fortunate to have water and food readily available for us. One of the activities also helped me realise that we do not need to travel far to get to our school.
I would like to encourage my juniors to attend the camp next year as I have learnt a lot from the activities and enjoyed my experience with other GB girls from other schools. Remember to persevere through the camp as we are not alone!

Junior Brigader Brooch
The Junior Brigader Brooch (JBB) is the highest award that a primary school GB girl is able to attain.
It is awarded to girls with a good sense of responsibility, outstanding character and leadership quality. The girls had to prepare their personal portfolio and reflect on their GB journey.
We are pleased to announce that 6 of our Junior Leaders have been awarded this award - the most amongst all the GB companies in Singapore this year.
When I was Primary Three, I was deeply interested in camps, drills, and completing tasks to earn badges. I was also persuaded to join this CCA as my seniors told me about the amazing discoveries they encountered. However, little did I know that the Girls’ Brigade was way more than that.
When I first joined Girls’ Brigade, I learnt the simplicities of drill and in every session, I would learn more and more about a new term that I had never heard of at that moment, “servant leadership”. Over the sessions, I learnt about what it takes to be a servant leader. I knew that I had to lead by being a role model in order to inspire others to do the right things and if I ever made a mistake, I make sure I learn from it and improve myself. Serving means that I have to think about others before looking at my own needs. For example, during camps, when my juniors had trouble setting up their sleeping bags, I volunteered to help them as I knew that my seniors would have done the same for me. Other than that, one extra value I learnt during my first overnight camp was to leave the place cleaner than before. After using the canteen, I would have to use my rag to clean the tables so the next squad can use it immediately.
I take pride in joining the Girls’ Brigade as I think it really changed me. My mindset about leadership changed as before, I always thought that a leader is all about commanding others. My knowledge about Christianity has also deepened and it has inspired me to make a better impact in Girls’ Brigade, in school and my life. I hope to seek more opportunities in Girls’ Brigade for self-improvement and leadership.
KWAN YU YUN (6 DILIGENCE 2024)
28P COMPANY LEADER
I joined GB as I was attracted to all the fun and enjoyable activities that GB teachers planned such as ice-skating, archery, inline-skating, crafts and many more.
There are also VIA sessions where GB girls will interact and serve the elderly in the neighbourhood. I have become more passionate about serving others after joining GB. I also learn to be more responsible as I have to complete tasks and roles that are entrusted to me as a junior leader.
In GB, girls learnt Christian and character values and we also learn skills such as first-aid and sewing. The friendships that we formed in GB are strong and we also get to make friends with GB Junior Leaders from other schools. The time spent with our fellow GB friends was memorable and these memories are precious to me.
Joining GB allows me to have an experience and learn many things that I will not be able to do so in other CCAs. We are able to have sports, crafts and character building activities in GB.
Joining GB is the best decision ever as I have been transformed by the opportunities given to me. I was able to lead my company and also to lead other junior leaders and parents during JLTC. I have also made many friends after joining GB. Most importantly, I learn to serve others and love God more.
