Introduction
Introduction
Started in 2011 as an interest group, pupils joined the Guitar Club to learn how to strum and sing along to popular songs as well as enjoy making music. To provide a platform to showcase pupils' talents and guitar skills, the Guitar Club frequently participated in school as well as public performances. The Guitar Club was renamed Guitar Ensemble in 2019.
OBJECTIVES
OBJECTIVES
Every Guitar Ensemble member will:
be able to read and produce music;
pick up guitar playing techniques;
build self-confidence and camaraderie;
enjoy performing;
develop an appreciation of music;
inculcate resilience, self-discipline and excellence.
PROGRAMME
PROGRAMME
Junior members will start by learning the basics of learning chords and fingering techniques. Once they have mastered the basics, they will be given opportunities to showcase their abilities through school performances as well as public performances and the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF).
PERFORMANCES
PERFORMANCES
Pupils will be given the opportunities to perform in internal school events and to represent the school in external events.
Outstanding pupils will be selected to participate in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts presentation.
LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Pupils will be given opportunities to develop their leadership skills and take on more responsibilities (e.g. CCA leaders) in the CCA.
