Basketball CCA sessions are held on Thursdays • Extra trainings for school team are held on Tuesdays
Do note that co-payment is required for team attire.
The Basketball CCA aims to provide a platform for pupils from diverse backgrounds to come together and enjoy the game. Through learning and interacting with one another, pupils will be able to forge friendships and improve their Basketball skills. Ultimately, we believe that our players will emerge as more confident pupils, not only exemplary in character, but also able to demonstrate teamwork and sportsmanship.
During CCA training sessions, professional coaches are hired to train our pupils. Pupils will gain an understanding of the rules of the game, undergo physical exercises and learn various basketball skills. These include dribbling, shooting, passing, lay-up, as well as offensive and defensive strategies in a basketball match. Through observation by coaches and teachers, students are given regular feedback on their areas of improvement.
The Basketball CCA places great emphasis on character development. Pupils will learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Apart from acquiring the technical skills in playing basketball, our CCA training sessions are also aligned with our ARISE school values (Amazing Love, Resilience, Integrity, Self-Discipline & Excellence). Our pupils care for one another and demonstrate resilience and excellence by not giving up and putting in their best efforts in their training sessions.
Besides CCA training sessions, pupils are also exposed to friendly matches and competitions, which not only allow them to gain valuable experience, but also foster strong friendship and camaraderie among our players.
Pupils have the opportunity to represent KCPPS in both senior (11 - 13 years old) and junior (up to 11 years old) teams and take part in the annual National School Games (NSG).
Pupils will be given opportunities to develop their leadership skills and take on more responsibilities (e.g. Captain and Vice-Captain) in the CCA.
