Developing each girl and officer to her fullest potential by Equipping, Empowering and Enabling:
Every Girl a Leader
Every Officer a Servant Leader
In the 28th (P) Girls' Brigade, the girls will learn Christian values, to lead and to serve. They will learn to develop self-control, reverence, and a sense of responsibility through active involvement in outdoor activities and badge work.
The Girls' Brigade Junior Programme aims to build character and inculcate good values in the girls. This programme consists of six segments:
GB Knowledge - Provide girls with the understanding of and pride in the Movement to which they belong
Drills - Instil discipline & resilience
Service - Develop empathy to identify and meet needs in the world with an attitude of gratitude and service
Treasure - Develop courage and patience to learn and apply new skills purposefully
Adventure - Develop resilience and tenacity to complete physical challenges, as an individual and a team member
Responsibility - Develop a sense of responsibility and respect towards self, others and the world
Service Badge - Service to School
We rendered service to the school by helping to clean the very spaces we use - the classrooms.
The objective of this session is for us to understand that it is our responsibility to keep the classrooms clean as it belongs to us, and we are to take ownership. We also learnt how to appreciate the hard work of the cleaners.
Through our squad discussion, we began to understand the hard work of all school support staff and proposed ideas to show our gratitude by making cards and videos.
Looking ahead, we would like to think about what more we can do to serve the school as servant leaders and propose our ideas.
"I have learnt that our school cleaners put in a lot of work to clean our school we should appreciate their hard work because without them, we would not have a clean environment to learn in."

Treasure Badge - Pizza making
This year, we had the opportunity to learn how to make delicious pizzas. We first learnt about the history of pizza, followed by dough making, decorating of the pizza and baking it! We ended the day by eating the beautiful pizza we baked.
"When we went to PastaMania, I learnt how to make a pizza. I acquired new skills like making a dough and putting it to use by making a pizza for my family at home."
~Ashlyn Quek Kit Yee (5 Agape)~
Adventure Badge - Laser Tag
We really had great fun competing against each other and learning about the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship through laser tag. We did not give up even when many of our team mates were already defeated by the opposing team.
"During laser tag, my team worked together to try to score points. Even though it was just a game of tag, it taught me that working together as a team will achieve something greater than dong it alone."
~Faith Loo Sze Qi (5 Excellence)~
Responsibility Badge -
First Aid Course
The theme for this year’s responsibility badge is “Safety First”. During the badge work, our company invited a representative from St. John Singapore to give the girls a talk on first aid awareness. We benefitted a lot from the sharing and attained a deeper understanding on the definition of first aid and why it is important to administer first aid in times of emergency.
"If my classmates injure themselves, I will try my best to help before they go to the sick bay. My sister has frequent nosebleeds. From now on, I will help her to stop it and teach her what to do if it happens. If I see someone not well in public, I will not fear and use my first aid skills before the paramedics arrive."
~Koh Zi Qi (5 Excellence)~
Devotions
We also learnt more about God and the Bible during our CCA sessions.
GB Camp 2023 - Live as children of LIGHT
We could finally have an overnight camp this year! We were able to build stronger bonds with our friends, and learn many new skills and values!
Decoupage Making
Our girls' reflections - being grateful for the camp...
National Day 2023
Onward as One
We were very honored to participate in this year's National Day Observance Ceremony!
Our Assistant Company Leader Kwan Yu Yun was the Parade Commander while the rest of the Junior Leaders formed the flag party!
In collaboration with our KCPPS Visual Arts Club and AWWA Community Home for Senior Citizens, the Girls’ Brigade donated and helped to prepare a list of items for the care packs and delivered them to the seniors.
They also prepared a song and performed there while teaching the residents some exercise!
Enrolment Service 2023
Our yearly Enrolment Service took place in May this year after our camp. All our parents lent their support and joined us for the service. Our drill competition squad even performed for everyone at the end!
Junior Leadership Training Camp (JLTC)
14 girls were selected this year to attend the 2-Day 1-Night camp in Term 1.
The training camp aims to equip the girls with the necessary skills needed in leading a squad and planning activities for the company.
Upon successful completion of the Junior Leadership Training, they were awarded the JLTC badge and would be expected to lead their squads in time to come.

GB Friendship Day 2023 - Adopt A Wish
In collaboration with the Southwest Community Development Council, the Girls’ Brigade helped to fulfil the specific wishes of 4,000 vulnerable individuals during this year’s GB Friendship Day. Our school helped to adopt 100 of these wishes. Our GB girls and their parents donated the items and blessed many needy families.
Our girls also designed and made inspirational cards for the families.
GB Day 2023
We celebrated GB Day on 18 July! All of us wore the GB uniform with pride. We felt very proud when our school mates clapped for us during assembly. It was a surprise seeing our principal, Mrs Yee, in our GB uniform too!
Fast Food & Fuzz Camp 2023
The P4 girls participated in a 2-day, 1-night camp at GBHQ. Through various activities such as sleeping on cardboard, eating only porridge, and walking long distances to school, they gained insight into the challenges faced by children in impoverished countries due to poverty. The girls had to work to earn money and buy their food. Despite the limited resources, it was a tough but life-changing experience for them.
Junior Drill Competition and Carnival 2023
The Junior Drill Competition and carnival were held in our school this year! The 20 of us trained hard for 3 months! The training was tough and challenging. However, we did not give up and managed to clinch "Gold"!
Our outstanding performance also won us the Challenge Trophy. As the top company amongst all the Gold awardees, we had the opportunity to perform our fancy drill a second time as a finale item to all the companies present. It was truly an honour and a humbling experience for all of us!
Junior Brigader Brooch
The Junior Brigader Brooch (JBB) is the highest award that a primary school GB girl is able to attain.
It is awarded to girls with a good sense of responsibility, outstanding character and leadership quality. The girls had to prepare their personal portfolio and reflect on their GB journey.
We are pleased to announce that 10 of our Junior Leaders have been awarded this award - the most amongst all the GB companies in Singapore this year.
GB Fortnight 2023 -
Annual Fundraising Event
GB Fortnight is our annual donation drive that supports our effort to help every girl fulfil her fullest potential, so she may be filled with hope for today and bring hope to others tomorrow.
The Girls' Brigade Singapore believes our young people can leave a legacy that makes an extraordinary difference in a year riddled with much uncertainty.

When I was a junior GB girl, my seniors helped when I was in need. This inspired me to be a kind and helpful senior when I was promoted. Other than fulfilling my usual duties as a squad leader, I reached out to my juniors, as well as checked on them frequently as they may be too shy to ask for help.
Leadership is not just about others listening to you, but more of servant leadership, where we should help, impart knowledge and inspire others.
Some of the important values I have learnt are the ARISE values, as well as respect, patience and teamwork.
Amazing love: always help others in need
Resilience: never give up when facing difficulty
Integrity: do the right thing even when no one is watching
Self-Discipline: at my best behaviour at all times
Excellence: do my best in every task
Respect: acknowledge the views/opinions of others and give feedback nicely
Patience: be patient when others are slower than me or if they cause the team to lag behind
Teamwork: put aside our differences and work together

SQUAD 5 LEADER
28P COMPANY LEADER
I had many wonderful memories in GB
It was especially memorable when I became the squad leader and became a good role model and friend to my juniors.
I have learnt the ARISE values, especially Integrity, while in GB. Before I joined GB, I was a very playful girl. However GB changed my character and I was influenced by my seniors in a positive way. I plan to be a good role model to my juniors so that I can also make an impact to their lives.
My advice to my juniors is to always display the ARISE values. Be a good role model to your juniors in the future, work hard and play hard too!
I am very grateful to all the GB teachers as they have taught me the importance of good values in life.
