You sit near him and share concerns about adjusting to life in a secondary school.

'I used to worry like you. Do you know I only joined the school in Sec 3? I was so nervous. Would I be ignored as I was not there since Sec 1? But the school’s CCA-centric system helped me make friends really quickly. How often does one get to interact with the CCA mates? Once or twice a week? With the level camps, CCA sessions and CCE lessons, I interacted with my CCA mates daily. I soon found friends in other classes as we had the same interests.'

You probe to ask why he is so keen to share his story.

'I appreciate how BLS has supported and affirmed my aspirations. I aspired to do well, not just academically but in my CCA too. BLS gave me the opportunity to lead in my CCA where I joined the family of seniors to care for the others. BLS also gave me opportunities to participate in competitions such as the Australian Math Competition and NUS Geography Challenge to push myself to do better.'
