Towards our Dreams we all Aspire

You walk around the school and you see someone flipping a novel. You notice that she isn’t wearing the BLS uniform.

‘Hi! I’m Song Wei, a former Boonlayian and currently a student at Anglo Chinese Junior College. Because my teachers believed in me and encouraged me, I took a brave step and applied for college via the Direct School Admission (DSA) exercise.’

What motivated her to do so? You’ve heard of the challenging process and admire her for trying.

Seeing the curiosity in your eyes, Song Wei continues, ‘Well, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to a junior college initially. After much encouragement from various teachers, I decided to give my best shot. Also, I’m relatively weak in my English Language which caused me some anxiety then. My English teachers did their best to help and gave me targeted consultation. Apart from them, other subject teachers also motivated me to excel in their respective subjects. Although BLS may be seen as a ‘neighbourhood school’, our teachers and their teaching quality is world class in my eyes. Without such teachers, I won't be where I am or who I am today.’

Her sharing leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. The family-oriented culture is such a strong motivation! After listening to her, you realise that the teachers in BLS play an important role in guiding students like Song Wei towards their dreams.
