Open Space Plan
The Open Space plan is made up of two residential buildings which face each other to create small private greenspaces before entering into a common greenspace area that is used as a pedestrian corridor to connect the multiple residential buildings to the southern portion of the site that includes commercial and mixed-use buildings. In this plan, you can also see added crosswalks and trail access points. These areas allow for pedestrians to have easier access to the Three Rivers Heritage trail, along with adding stops for vehicular traffic which will help to decrease speeding along River Avenue.
Open Space Section
The open space section shows the relationship between the pedestrian corridor, the common and private greenspaces, and the residential buildings. In this section, we can also see how the residential building is elevated and the first floor is a parking garage, designed to maximize parking availability and allow residents to have covered and secured parking. Outside of the parking garage is a small parking area for visitors of the building or those who may want to access the Three Rivers Heritage Trail at this location.
This image gives a unique look into the residential portion of the site and shows the relationship between the proposed residential buildings and the existing buildings within the site. This image also shows the connection to other areas of the site with the use of the pedestrian corridor that runs between the residential buildings.
