S2 covers Craft, Design and Technology in a very broad way. We aim to cover all of our subjects benchmarks areas throughout the year whilst giving students a wide range of experiences that prepare them in later school.

Students take on some technical drawing challenges whilst learning the importance of Orthographic projection. Knowledge of Orthographic Drawing is paramount for all of our courses during the senior phase in Graphic Communication.
Students are introduced to Autodesk Inventor, a 3D CAD modelling program that is used heavily in Graphic Communication during the senior phase.
This Practical Woodworking project introduces students to planing and chiseling in this very functional Mug Tree project.
Students first experience of Design & Manufacture where they design and make their ice scraper from scratch.
This Graphic Communication project dives deeper into Desk Top Publishing and challenges students to research thoroughly whilst still creating and eye catching info graphic on a topic of their choice.
This Engineering Science project challenges students to build a tower from paper straws. Pupils are challenged to hold the same weight but as high as they can!
The desk tidy is a Practical Woodworking project with a hint of individualisation and choice resulting in a variety of different desk tidies.
Students learn how to draw in 2 Point perspective, an easy yet efficient way of drawing in 3D. These skills will help students that are taking Graphic Communication and Design & Manufacture.
Pupils will be given homework at regular intervals. This homework will be related to the topic of work that they are undertaking at the time.
