MCS CONDUCTS BRIDGING PROGRAM FOR NEW STUDENTS
On June 10, 2025, Malate Catholic School hosted three days of Communio, a spiritual bridging program designed to help transferee students grow closer to God.
Transferee students gathered at the school chapel at 2:00 PM on June 10, 2025 for Communio, a spiritual bridging program organized by the CCHWF, where CLED teacher Ms. Connie Nadonga underscored the importance of engaging in the school’s spiritual life.
The orientation focused on the topic “Prayer in the Life of a Disciple of Christ.” Ms. Nadonga emphasized the importance of prayer as essential to a disciple’s spiritual journey, highlighting how Jesus teaches us to pray constantly.
Students learned the value of daily prayer and the importance of waiting patiently for God’s answers. Ms. Nadonga also explained the benefits of prayer, how to pray properly, and the different expressions and forms of prayer. Before ending, she invited students to share their takeaways. The session closed with a prayer and concluded at 3:05 PM.
Day 2 session was conducted by Mr. Ralph Madera Campus Ministry In-charge, together with Ms. Andrea Bisuelan. The first to give their informative talk was Mr. Madera, who gave insights about the importance and meaning of the different sacraments.
After the talk with Mr. Madera, Ms. Bisuelan then explained the Ten Commandments and linked them to school policies to show their relevance. The second orientation ended at 3:00 PM.
Mr. Ringo Dabu, Mr. Frankmar Cabeltis, and Mr. Ralph Madera, led the 3rd day sessions respectively.
Mr. Dabu opened with a Student Coordinating Board (SCB) performance that illustrated school rules, including proper uniform attire and punctual attendance. He further explained the meaning behind each act, emphasizing the importance of good conduct.
Mr. Cabeltis introduced Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, explaining its message about human dignity and being made in God’s image. He explained that Malateans should keep these values by respecting others and not bringing them down. The session ended with a reflection on kindness, followed by a closing prayer from Mr. Cabeltis.
The bridging program aimed to immerse new Malateans in the strong desire of the school to give intensive spiritual formation to the students.
