A SORROWFUL PATH
A SORROWFUL PATH
This poem tells the story of Jesus’ suffering and sacrifice with deep emotion and imagery. It follows his journey from the garden, through the pain of being whipped and mocked, to carrying the cross and finally dying on it. Despite the suffering, the poem highlights his strength, love, and forgiveness. It shows that his pain was not in vain, because it brought hope and light to humanity.
In the dark garden, he kneels all alone,
Feeling deep pain, his sweat like drops of blood,
He prays for strength, but knows he must go on,
Trusting in God through the coming flood.
Tied to a pillar, the whips cut his skin,
Strikes of harsh pain, leaving marks so red,
He suffers quietly, for our sake within,
A gift of love that words can't fully said.
A crown of thorns pressed hard upon his head,
Soldiers laugh and mock him without care,
Blood drips down, as he's treated like the dead,
Yet he stays strong, showing love beyond compare.
The heavy cross weighs on his tired back,
He walks the road with crowds shouting around,
Falling and rising, never turning back,
His steps speak of a love that is profound.
On the hilltop, nails go through his hands and feet,
The sky turns dark as he takes his last breath,
He cries for forgiveness, making all complete,
In that moment, he conquers fear and death.
After the sorrow, a new hope starts to shine,
His pain brings light to our darkest days,
Though tears may fall, his story is divine,
Teaching us love wins in mysterious ways.
