Students should refer to their course syllabi and ask their instructors what specific software they will need for their courses. However, free software downloads are provided in the lists below.

Blackboard App

Students can download the free Blackboard App to an Apple iOS 11.0+ or Android 5+ mobile device to view course content, receive notifications, and participate in online discussions or meetings. Some types of content and features may not be available through the app. See the Student Guide to the Blackboard App for details.

Google Apps

When you are logged into your MATC Gmail, access these free web-based mobile-friendly tools to create and share files as well as collaborate online with others. To learn more see the Google Workspace Center and the direct links below.

MS Office 365 - Free Versions for Students

Current students may use their MATC Gmail accounts to download Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote for free by going to the Office in Education website. If you need MS Access, please download the 30-day free trial. For support, please see the Office Support website and Training Center.

VMware Virtual Desktop

MATC offers its students remote access to MATC software applications through its virtual desktop system. This program will allow you to log in with your MATC network account to access a virtual campus computer and programs, such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
