In this section of the brief, I created two logos. The first one is for the basketball player, Allen Iverson. I re-invented his logo: I3 (I for Iverson, 3 for his jersey number).
This was the first piece I created using the pen tool in Illustrator. I created a '3' with some of it cut off and added an 'I' in front of it. I did this by using the pen tool, a tool that draws lines and curves to create shapes. It was a simple vector logo I created which can be applied anywhere whether it is placed on shoes, posters or clothing.
Below I have created multiple colour schemes. I feel that the Red logo fits the profile of Allen Iverson as most of his jerseys feature red on them. As you may be able to notice, the 'I' is slightly thinner than the rest of the logo. If I were to do this again, I would make all of the lines the same thickness. Overall, I believe this logo was a success.
For my second logo, I decided to redesign the Philadelphia 76ers Logo (an NBA Team). This one was just as simple as the first one. I managed to draw out a modernised version of the team name and brand it with the team colours; I used the pen tool to draw and colour in the logo. I went for a more slanted style of text to give it a futuristic theme. The vector didn't need many layers, I wanted to keep it simple. I followed the same layout as the original logo that the franchise is currently using.
