In this photoshoot, I attempted a casual photoshoot for a friend. Keeping it simple, just showing off some clothes. I decided to go ahead with a grungy, vintage film theme. We traveled to a local underpass with an extremely vibrant yellow wall. I did want to take these photos at night so I could use the flash to create that 'unprofessional' and retro look but it was dark enough under the underpass to use the flash effectively.
To create this, I used an older camera to help with the vintage theme. I used a point-and-shoot technique where i just shot the photos without keeping track of any of the technical stuff such as the ISO or aperture levels. This is so i got that old, film camera style.
When editing these photos, I uses Photoshop's 'Camera Raw Filter'; A spitting image of lightroom but as a photoshop plugin. The preset I created was the same for each of these photos.
On the curves, I lifted the blacks to make the photo look slightly faded.
I then raised the temperature and tint to create a warm look. I raised the contrast quite drastically and got rid of nearly all the highlights.
I also added some dehaze and raised the texture levels
As a final touch, I added some grain to finalise the vintage feel to these photos.
