Principal's Message
This has been another busy week, full of lots of exciting workshops and learning experiences.
The week began with an assembly from the Blue Cross. The children learnt about dog safety and the key signs to look for to ensure it is safe to approach a dog. The children really enjoyed this assembly and asked lots of fantastic questions.
On Monday, the children across the school also had the opportunity to take part in a RugbyTots workshop. The children all thoroughly enjoyed this experience and the opportunity to try a different sport.
On Wednesday, Spruce class visited the Heritage Centre and took part in a workshop about maps. They looked at lots of different local maps, explored the different symbols and land use. The children really enjoyed the opportunity to explore maps in more detail and to hear more about the village of Marden.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Marden Library Homework Club
Marden Library will be starting a homework club for the children of Marden Primary Academy on Thursdays, starting from 25th April. It will run from 3:30-4:30pm.
Parents and carers need to attend with their child to support and supervise them.
We have worked with the brilliant team at the library to share the home learning menus that are now live on Google Classroom and explain how our home learning works.
The team have lots of books to help the children with their learning and we can't wait to see their fantastic work!

While the short-term benefits of energy drinks can be attractive, it's not wise to ignore the potential health risks. Consuming these beverages regularly can have negative effects on the heart and blood pressure, and even cause dependency on these products to keep users’ energy at a ‘normal’ level. Factoring in that many shops have issued a voluntary ban on selling these drinks to under-16s, the rise in children and young people using energy drinks is a cause for concern.
This marked increase in young people using highly caffeinated drinks to supplement their energy has heightened the risk of these health issues arising in children – at a time in their lives where such impacts can have greater, longer-lasting consequences. Our guide addresses these possible hazards, letting you know how to minimise them for children and young people who like the occasional can.
