5Chestnut  Learning Update

Central idea: Migrants and explorers both influence, and are influenced by, the world around us.

Our trip to The British Museum was a huge success! The children were able to see first-hand the artefacts that they had been researching in class.  It was wonderful to see their faces when we arrived at the museum.  They were very well-behaved and sensible throughout the day, and it was a pleasure to experience the trip with them.

As well as our trip this week, we have learnt about life in an Anglo-Saxon village, and the jobs which people did.  We are going to continue our research next week, looking at the rule of Britain during the Anglo-Saxon period.

In our maths learning we have been rounding to the nearest whole number, to one decimal place and to two decimal places.  To do so, we have learnt to round by looking at the nearest tenth and nearest hundredth.  We have also completed our maths assessment in which the children worked hard to answer a range of questions covering many concepts.
