5Cedar   Learning Update

Central idea: Migrants and explorers both influence, and are influenced by, the world around us.

Our trip to The British Museum was an amazing success! Both children and adults thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The children were able to recognise the artefacts that they had been researching and sketching in class.  It was wonderful to see their faces when we arrived at the museum and the buzz of excitement as we walked aroundAll were very well-behaved and made us very proud. It was a pleasure to share the experience with them.

As well as our trip this week, we have learnt about life in an Anglo-Saxon village, and the jobs which people did.  We are going to continue our research next week, looking at the rule of Britain during the Anglo-Saxon period.

I am very proud of how hard the children have worked during their assessments this week and how they have greatly improved on the exam technique. In our maths learning we have been rounding to the nearest whole number and to one decimal place. It has been lovely to see their progress on understanding number and mastering their knowledge on place value.

Keep up the great work!
