Juniper      Learning Update

Central idea: Personal choices impact the environment. 

The Early Years children are really doing their bit to help the planet. We rolled, pressed and dried out our paper ready to write on. Reduce, reuse, recycle is the key message that the children are passionate about. 

While learning about single-use plastic and how we can reduce this, Dottie said: "bananas sometimes come wrapped up in a plastic bag when they are already protected by their skin, that is wasting plastic." Samuel said: "My mum takes plastic bags from home back to use them again." From this, we reused any single-use plastic bottles and turned them into vases to take home. Some of the Year 2 children came in to share their knowledge of endangered animals and how humans have impacted this. The children in Juniper class have shown a willingness to learn and engage throughout this inquiry and have led their learning with great independence.
