Central idea: Water management can play a role which influences the environment.
Our learning has continued to focus on water management, water pollution and issues surrounding water. We have investigated the actions of peaceful protestors, including Greta Thunberg. The class have created their own posters and placards, demanding change and reminding people that water is vital, the pollution and waste being dumped into the waterways is unacceptable and action needs to be changed.
In addition to our inquiry investigations, the class have been developing their artistic skills. Year 3 have been creating fabric collage scenes of the Great Barrier Reef. They have drawn and painted creatures, coral and plants on to pieces of cotton, then will attach them to their backgrounds with glue or by sewing. Year 4 have been using clay to create pots and tools to carve images and patterns into the clay surfaces. They will then paint them.
