Juniper      Learning Update

Central idea: Families can support the local community. 

Our current learning is exploring the importance of love, kindness and care within families and how this kindness can be spread into the local community.  

We started to look at the local community that many of us live in. 

Tabitha: "Marden is our local community." 

Florence: "It has lots of flowers planted by people around." 

Alexandre: "Marden is good, it has shops and a park where families go." 

During our trip to the church, Reverend Nicky was able to share with the children all of the wonderful opportunities the church provides for Marden. This included a community lunch, messy church for the children, a food donation and food bank service, a coffee and cake morning, 'come and sing' and more. 

The children were keen to help the community further. Some suggestions by the children included supporting the food bank by asking for food donations, baking cakes to supply for the coffee and cake morning and singing to the church to cheer people up. We look forward to actioning one of these at school in the coming weeks.
